A special ceremony building a Thunderbird Nest was held at the Onjisay Aki International Climate Summit on Saturday, June 10th, 2017 at the Turtle Lodge.
This ceremony was received in a vision by our Elder, and it was agreed that there would be a calling to the Thunderbirds to help fulfil our role as partners to the Thunderbirds as guardians of the Earth. This is the first time that a Thunderbird Nest has been built in this area for centuries.
Prior to the summit there were two warriors selected to go to the ancient mountain where our ancestors would call upon the spirit of the Thunderbirds, to unite the spirit and the human being.
Those attending the ceremony to build the Thunderbird nest on June 10th were invited to bring seven small round rocks from their area to help build the nest.
